I couldn’t believe my eyes the first time I saw the three lonely cans of Black Vinyl Spray on the lowest shelf of one of the local Box Stores. I had never heard of vinyl paint of any kind.
It just so happened that I had recently procured two vinyl covered office/table chairs with vinyl cushions on the seats and the backs. They weren’t in awful shape, but the chairs lived with some housekeeping challenged bachelors for several years. They were also a favorite of the resident non-declawed cat – so there were some tiny holes in one of the chairs. (These may have been a side effect of a quick cat get-away when company was viewed through the window – be it people, cats, dogs, deer or raccoons.) The vinyl also looked dull and uninspiring.

I don’t mind free furniture, as long as I can make it clean and new. So, the sudden appearance of Vinyl Spray in my direct line of vision was an omen. I grabbed all three cans and headed for the shop.
